CISCOWORKS LMS 4.1 UPGRADE

Hi, we have CISCOWORKS LMS 2.5 (300 devices) upgraded to 2.6 (with all apps to max possible version), running since long time ago.

Now we want to upgrade to current version.

We manage only 75 devices, so that the 100 devices version is enought for us.

Is the following the correct product to purchase without having any licensing trouble?

Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution ( v. 4.1 ) - version upgrade license

( v. 4.1 ) - version upgrade license - 1 server, 100 devices - upgrade from 2.x/3.x - Win, Solaris - delivered via electronic distribution

And what about Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution ( v. 4.2 )? Is possible to purchase it now?

As long as we could download and intall the demo version, is possible to buy the license (4.1 or 4.2) via web?

Thanks a lot

Julio

Yes, it is confusing. The advice you quoted is to ensure that customers who need the same count order the right part number to get that continued same count.

In your case since you know that the 100 device license is sufficient, you can order that. Once the Cisco or partner order fulfillment staff confirm your eligibility, the order will be fulfilled with a Product Authorization Key (PAK) entitling you to obtain a license file. Once installed, that file will license your server to manage 100 devices.

Hope this helps.

Julio,

You can order R-PI1.1-100-UP-K9 to get on to LMS 4.2. Please see Table 4 in this reference for confirmation.

Great Marvin!

The question now is if it is possible to order R-PI1.1-100-UP-K9 to get on to LMS 4.2. when my prior LMS is for 300 devices (do you understand my doubt? It is as if we are ordering a downgrade in the device number, from 300 to 100)

Ordering Information for Existing CiscoWorks LMS 2.x/3.x Customers

1. Determine the license count for your existing CiscoWorks LMS 2.x/3.x product and order the matching Cisco Prime Infrastructure major release upgrade part number in Table 4. When using the Cisco Ordering Tool enter the part number R-PI-1.1-UP-K9 to access the options

Our prior LMS 2.6 is for 300 devices, but currently we manage only 80, so that 100 devices will be enought.

So that, the license count for our existing product does not match the Cisco Prime Infrastructure.

Thank a lot

Julio
