Hello Mohammed,

what IOS version are you running?

Do you have a crash file in flash?

How ahead and attach both. What we need to find out, is if this is a high CPU or a truly hang where the process runs infinitely and does not relinguish the processor.

Do you still have console access when the router hangs?

If you do then go ahead and do the following:

configure:

# term mon

# conf t

# logg mon

# logg con

# no log buff

1. Have a console cable connected to the router and log the output to a txt file.

2. Deactivate the service

3. Collect everything from start to finish till the router comes back.

If the router crashes, then we can collect the following info to find out:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/iad/ps397/products_tech_note09186a00800b4447.shtml

If the router hangs then we can collect stack traces from rommon by following this link:

after crashing I can console in, but no remote log in.

I have taken sh tech after it crashed

Hi Luis,

I forgot to say, when it crashes the users can't use the computer or phones.

Thank you for pointing me to right direction.

Mohammed

Please update to 15.0(1)M8 or 15.1(4)M4.

Then if still happens you need to contact the TAC, because no forum can resolve IOS bugs.

Thank you guys, I will update the IOS, if not resolved then TAC case.

Thank you for the nice rating and good luck!

Paolo is right trying with the IOS upgrade first.

Thanks for the rating.
