Examples of setting LACP between Broadcom 57xx NICs and Cat4506-E?

I am trying to get a 4 x 1GbE LAG group connected between a server with Broadcom 5709C GigE interfaces, and four 1GbE ports on a blade on my Cat4506-E.

The server NICs are running the most current versions of the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite (BASC) and the most current versions of the Broaddcom drivers.   Additionally, the Cat4506-E is running the most current platform supported version

The BASC utility offers the option of setting up an the LACP group as either  "Link Aggregation" or as "Generic Trunking (FEC/GEC)/802.3ad-Draft Static".

Given that these are the two LACP options available for configuring the Broadcom driver for LACP, should the channel-group mode for the GigE ports on the 4506-E be configured for 'mode active' or 'mode on'?

And are there any best practice examples for how to best configure the LACP channel between these particular OEM NICs and the 4506-E?

Here is the guide for configuring

When configuring Etherchannel usually the switch side is in active mode and the server side is passive
