Dear All ,
I have a MDS 9216 connected to an MDS 9124 . The connected ports are showing as E Ports and not TE ports .
What do I need to do to get them in TE mode of operation .

both the sides are default to trunk mode auto. In this case there will be no trunking, just regular ISL.
Check Table 12-2
Can you configure one side to 'switchport trunk mode on' under the FC port and check if you can get the link up as TE port?
Thanks, Vin.

ie is this a new install or you have more vsans defined on the mds switches which you have allowed on the trunk ? what does the trunk config look like ?
from both switches, please get,
show vsan
show run int fc1/2(3)
Thanks, Vin.
