Cisco cordless DECT 6.0 VoIP phone?

Does Cisco make a VoIP phone that connects to the wired LAN (that is, the phone doesn't use wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n) but does use DECT 6.0 for the cordless communications from the base station to the cordless handset?  So, for instance, the 7921G and others like it are not what I'm looking for because their wireless capabilities are 802.11 a/b/g/n.

No, you would need to use analog DECT phone connected to analog FXS port. Is there a specific reason you would want that over wifi phone?

Chris

Okay, thanks.

I work at a steel mill, and the plant is a campus of hulking steel buildings spread over about a mile.  We currently have Centrex, but now have an approved project to deploy VoIP.  As some of our sister plants in other locations have done, we're only deploying 6921, 7942 and 7962 phones.

I'm pretty sure there will be at least a handful of users here who will want to have cordless phones after we go to VoIP and I'm trying to accommodate them.  I have wired LAN pretty much everywhere I need it to deploy the corded VoIP phones, but WiFi coverage is far more limited across the plant.

Hi Mike,

Like Chris nicely noted (+5 "C") you would use "any" manufacturers DECT 6.0

phone connected to CUCM via something like a VG202 Analog FXS Gateway.

The VG202 can be installed at the user/drop end or in the riser/panel and extended to the

area via the "wired" connections.

Here's an example of a "rugged' DECT 6.0 that would work in this type of setup

Cheers!
