WS-X4612-SFP-E on a non 4503 chassis

Hi all,

Guess I know the answer ;-(

Can a WS-X4612-SFP-E be put in a non 4503 chassis?

- The "show modules" shows "unsupported module"

- Chassis Type :   WS-C4503

- Sup card:            WS-X4013+TS

- IOS:                    Version 12.2(25)EWA8

How about a new chassis, 4503-E? Does the WS-X4013+TS still supports PBR?

This card is only supported on E-series chassis (including 4503-E) with sup6 or sup7. See table 1:

Hi Norbert,

You can use WS-X4013+TS supervisor on 4503-E chassis and it will work (as they are compatible) but it won't support WS-X4612-SFP-E card.

Nope.  You can use the supervisor card on older non-E chassis.

So, WS-X4013+TS is supported on 4503-E chassis, but the line card is not supported

with 4013+TS on that chassis.
