WRVS400N

Hello guys i have just purchased a WRVS400N

The reason hence buying the router as i am being ip flooded on xbox live, and at the moment I am using a virgin media super hub. i know when the virgin media superhub gets ip flooded cannot handle it as the cpu in the super hub cant handle the requests by the time it filters the packets and has already slowed down and logs of anyhow which is a bit of a shame really i have thought of a private vpn service now i am not to clued up networking ok guys but i thought that i would go for the WRVS400N with using my super hub of virgin media as a modem but done that with all the protection of the linksys WRVS400N which i think has all the correct settings but i would love for someone to perhaps give me a bit of help with this scenario because the reason that the ip flood happens is when someone on xbox live is using cain and able network sniffer i am sure perhaps some have heard of it sniffs all the connections coming of the router of the host is using when you are connected to them via online game play as such and then they send shells to your ip which floods the router which i think form research i have done and i would like protection form that if anyone has any idea or perhaps a bit of knowledge on how to stop this please contact or leave a post

here are the technical specifications on the wrvs4400n

My objective of pointing out that you have made three duplicate post will allow the people who intends to help you decide and/or determine which of the three of your threads they will put their responses to.

I see but thats why i made three duplicates on the post in different threads in the networking part of the forum.

Hopeing that I might get more response from the people that would like to share thier knowledge on the post.

Or perhaps have a better chance of getting help.

No harm intended.
