Need some help about Cisco Telepresence MCU 5310

Hi everyone,

I'm studying MCU 5310 and have some queries that need to be clarified as follows:

1. About stacking function: what is the difference between stacking function on MCU 5300 series and cascading function on MCU 4200, 4500?

2. About the compatibility: Can MCU 5310 or 4501 cascade with MCU 4205?

3. Can MCU 4205 connect sites that used SX20 or QuickSet C20?

1. About stacking function: what is the difference between stacking function on MCU 5300 series and cascading function on MCU 4200, 4500?

MCU4200 series or/and MCU4500 series cascade connection over Ethernet port and consume video port on each site.

Stacking the 2 x MCU5300 series use high speed serial connection and won't consume video port (similar to 8510 clustering).

2. About the compatibility: Can MCU 5310 or 4501 cascade with MCU 4205?

Yes, MCU5300 series MCU can cascade with other MCU4200 series and MCU4500 series.

3. Can MCU 4205 connect sites that used SX20 or QuickSet C20?

Yes, all TelePresence MCU series from Cisco support both SX20 and C20 QuickSet.

1. Cascading is not good decision. Manual for cascading is removed from cisco.com

2. MCU 4205 and 4501 must have 4.3(2.18) software
