Heres the scenario.

Wireless client connected to a 3602i AP running on 2500 series WLC with a latest 7.2 code.

Client will now connect to AT&T vpn client - success.

Client will connect to SAP application using netweaver gui - failed.

With the same scenario, except for the access point being used, client will connect to SAP application using netweaver gui

1242AP IOS/CAPWAP - success

1252 CAPWAP - success

3500 CAPWAP - success

Whats with the 3600 series APs that i cant pass traffic with the SAP application?

Troubleshooting done:

802.11n disabled - still failed

Clean Air disabled - still failed

MFP disabled - still failed

Any other solutions?

I suppose that all config is the same and all working APs (other models than 3600) are joinign same WLC and the access is to the same WLAN. I also suppose that only one port is connected to the 2500 WLC.

If any of the above is not correct please explain.

I appreciate if you please provide more information about the type of failure.

you said you connect to VPN successfully then though VPN you try to connect ot the SAP applicaiton with no success.

How do you connect to that application (via web? via specific software on your laptops...etc?).

Do you get any error messages when you try to connect? or it just times out?

Have you eliminated client issue possibilities? have you tried with multiple clients/browser?

Thanks.

Hi Amjad,

You are correct, same config, same WLC, one port is connected in 2500 WLC.

Here's the process for working SAP application

1. Client will connect to 1242/3500 wireless AP - success

2. Client will connect to AT&T Global Network Client (VPN Client) - success

3. Client will connect to SAP Logon (SAP Netweaver) - SAP GUI for Windows - success (see attached sap success logo)

Here is for not working SAP application

1. Client will connect to 1242/3500 wireless AP - success

2. Client will connect to AT&T Global Network Client (VPN Client) - success

3. Client will connect to SAP Logon (SAP Netweaver) - SAP GUI for Windows - failed (hangs on the logo), waited for 10mins but still stuck in this logo, i have to disconnect the VPN to terminate the connection to SAP

I got you now.

I think this needs further isolation. does it work without using VPN? can it be tried?

To verify further we need to knwo if the AP passes the traffic to the WLC or not (when it hangs I mean). Also, we need to know if the WLC forwards the traffic to its destination when it receives it from the AP.

This can be verified via wireshark capture on AP and WLC ports.

It doesn't work without VPN. VPN needs to be terminated for the SAP to work.

We actually performed wireshark captured in wireless client (laptop), i can only see VPN termination traffic (ISAKMP), but no SAP traffic, even with the working 1242/3500 APs, possible of being tunneled?
