Cleaning up fcaliases

I am involved in a project that involves merging two SAN fabrics together.  Each fabric was managed differently, so I have some devices on my SAN that are configured with fcaliases.

We have decided that the preferred configuration is to use device aliases.  I want to know how to safely clean up the fcaliases and convert them to device aliases without impacting my zoning.  Does anybody have any experience with this?  If anyone has a step-by-step procedure, that would be greatly appreciated!

there is no direct procedure for this but you can make it easy.

take config

dump in text file or use cli filters (pipe, egrep,i filter)

then you can edit it to create new config. at the same time to delete old config.

then with a caution window, apply the new scripts. just be careful and dont miss any zone. also keep config backup handy
