Hi all
I need to use very long console connection it over 56 feet (17m) (I used Cat6 wire with connection on oth ends as console wire 12345678-87654321)
According to the below table
Data rate (bps) | Distance (m) |
---|---|
2400 | 60 |
4800 | 30 |
9600 | 15 |
19200 | 7.6 |
38400 | 3.7 |
56000 | 2.6 |
My wire is to long to handle serial connection.
On the router I can use
Router>
terminal speed 4800
I couldn't find similar command on ASA IOS - id an any?
If I am going in wrong direction extending serial wire let me know.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure you cannot change the ASA console speed from the default 9600 bps. 15m is not that much under 17m - have you tried your onnection without success?
If that doesn't work you'll probably have to either a. use a console server or b. rely on the Ethernet management intertface.
