I would like to know where I can see a trace log if a surten IP phone connects to the CUCM. I have looked in CDR Repord & Analysis and downloaded the Real Time Monitoring Tool. I don't know where to look
Thanks in advanced.
Look for REGISTER messages using the find tool in your favorite text editor. You should also be able to search by Device Name to find a specific device. I would just try doing a find for the last 4 digits of a MAC address that is having issues registering.
You can download the traces using the RTMT tool. You can read up on it here:
You will need to use RTMT to collect log files including SDI and SDL trace files.
Have a look at the link below

Some other places to look to see if a phone is reaching CUCM would be looking at the CCMAdmin web page, Device > Phone, find the phone you are interested in. There is a field that says registered, or unknown, or unregistered. Unknown indicates the device has never reached CUCM, unregistered means the device was registered but is no longer registered, rejected indicates the device connected but there was a security or configuration problem. Additionally you can look on the phone under Settings > Status > Status Messages to see what the phone is doing. It's easiest to start there to see if the phone is downloading it's configuration file or not, resolving the CUCM's name if it's a hostname, etc.
