ACS & Active Directory Integration

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently working on an ACS deployment that will be utilized only for user authentication to network devices and was wondering if there were any advantages or disadvantages in integrating ACS with Active Directory.  Does anyone know if there are advantages to keeping both technologies separate?  Does the integration help simplify management?  Any information and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Miller,

The main advantage is that you don't have to create users/password in ACS. When we have many users its easy to map it to Active Directory rather then setting users manually in ACS.

It make Administrator's job easier.

The only disadvantage is when connectivity between ACS and AD breaks, users won't able to login.

Hi JG,

That is kind of what I figured.  Thank you for the insight.
