I have a Cisco 1841 router and am using it at home to study for my CCENT/CCNA exam next week. I need to practice using the SDM to configure NAT/PAT and DHCP as I hear this could be a possible exam topic. Here's the problem:
I believe that I already have the SDM on my router (I see an SDM.TAR file listed when I Show Flash). Unfortunately, I have been unable to launch it even once, though I configured the router to support SDM with the appropriate privilege level password (15), http and secure server settings, username, domain-name, crypto key, authentication, transport input, etc.).
Please; can anyone answer the following for me:
- Does the SDM.TAR file that I see in my flash represent the complete SDM or should I see more files in flash with SDM in the name to use this GUI?
- How, exactly, can I get my router to launch a webpage and access the SDM from my flash without having to download an SDM to my pc and run it from there (if, in fact, I have the right SDM file in flash to begin with)?
- If all else fails; where do I go to download the SDM (it's a little confusing when I put in "SDM" in the Cisco site search).
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
