APNIC was assigned 6 digit for BGP ASN.

Hi Team,

I can't understand this situation. my understanding BGP ASN should be within 5 digit. but, APNIC assigned us 6 digit for ASN.

surly, that configuration was rejectted from cisco router configuration.

R1(config)#router bgp ?

  <1-65535>  Autonomous system number

R1(config)#router bgp xxxxxx

                           ^

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

in this case, how can I do? ask it to APNIC to correct ASN? otherwise. let me know my understanding is wrong.

It sounds like you have a 4-byte ASN which will require an IOS that supports 32-bit AS numbers:
