Have you tried a different browser... I know that when I use IE and I have google frame installed, I have had to login more frequently with not just WCS.
You can set the "User session Timeout" by navigating under:
Administration --> User preference --> User Idle Timeout
It's not a global setting. It would have to be set for individual users by logging in as themselves.
