Client needs a one button transfer to voice mail...

We have a client that has a UC540 and the SPA500 button bar.

They want to program a couple buttons that will permit them to send a caller they are speaking with directly to a user's voice mail box, without hitting the softkeys and transfering to 6xxx.

Thanks so much!

Not... entirely true.

Ex:

telephony-service

  transfer-pattern 3.. blind

ephone-dn 1 octo-line

  number 201 no-reg both

  name User One

  label User One

  desc x201

ephone-dn 2 octo-line

  number 301 no-reg both

  name User One VM

  label User One VM

  desc x301

  call-forward all 6301

ephone 1

  ...

  button 1:1 2m2

This config will provide a button that is 1-click transfer to voicemail.

You could probably do everything but the transfer pattern in CCA. (Use floating extensions for the "VM" extensions)

Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no one touch voicemail transfer that I'm aware. We can do this in 2 steps though. Two ways to do this: have the user hit the transfer softkey and send the call to the voicemail steering digit+extension, ie in a default config going to extension 100's mailbox the number dialed would be 6100. The other option is that there is a transferVM softkey which you press and then just enter the extension of the user.

Thanks,

Hi John,

I am not sure if you can do this on current versions as I have not played with a UC in a few months, but in the past I created a speed dial on a spare button, either a SPA-500S or a free button on the phone, this speed dial looked like this;

6...

the "6" representing the TransferVM leading digit, and the "..." the extension number of the handset

This was done as the reception wanted this option so she can transfer to the VM of the management team instead of bothering them when they were on a call.

But like I said, this may not work anymore, but it might still, and if it does it is extremely easy to setup and You should give it a try and see if it still does

Cheers,
