configurin​g xPrintServ​er to support print from Apple iOS devices

Hi,

I have to configure my Catalyst 6500 switches to support xPrintServer server for Apple iOS device printing. It uses multicast.

I am not using Cisco Wireles controllers ; I have turned on multicast support on the W controllers.

Now I have ot take care of switch part and enable multicast on it.

Has anyone had experience doing this and knows the requirements? The wireless clients and printer are in separate vlans.

So it will require multicast between vlans. What mode of multicast and IGMP should be configured?

Any help or link would be great!

Hi,

To configure multicast on the 6500, you need to enable ip pim sparse-dense-mode for both vlans/SVIs.
