Hello, my internal services are all working fine.
I have set up some external free services online.
Iniitally when I set up this external service,I defined it by using a domain name which did not work ("host not found" error). I changed the service URL to it's ip address and it did work. The problem now is that the phone successfully accesses that main service URL, BUT then downloads a further XML file detailing subsidiary services to choose from. That secondary XML file contains the service URLs with domain names rather than ip address resulting in another "host not found" error. So it appears to be a name resolution problem.
I cannot understand why this is happening as my CUCM does have DNS servers configured and tested. It must be a simple fix ?
Rergarding my CUCM 8.6 configuration:
- I am using ip addressing for my server definintions within CUCM.
- I have set Enterprise parameters - Services Provisioning to "Both"
- my CUCM installations have DNS servers configured and tested by pinging from within CUCM to named URL addresses.
- using 7940 phones
Does anyone have any further ideas ?

Because the phones need DNS as they're the ones reading the services, not CUCM.
Are the phones configured for DNS???
