controller: WLC2106 accesspoint: AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9

Hi,

we have a cisco wireless controller: WLC2106 running software version 7.0.235.0

We recently bought two new accesspoints: AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9

My reseller said they should be compatible with each other.

But when i connect them i receive these errors:

Does my controller have a software version to old for this accesspoint?

This is not compatible, 1600 series required min 7.4.x WLC software version

2106 series controller only support upto 7.0.x software code. So you have to have 2504 WLC model (as it is the product to replace 21xx WLC) in order to to support your AP

HI Mark,

The Your AP requires v 7.4 code on the WLC.

Please have a look at below url under heading "Table 4 Controller Software Releases and the Supported Access Points" and you can see the AP1600 is listed from WLC Software version 7.4 only.
