problem to load my asdm and have a prompt in cli mode

I have a problem with my ASA 5510.

when I connect in cli and issue a command the ASA takes 2 or 3 mn to answer (validate the command and give me the prompt)

also when I tried to connect using asdm it is impossible.

please can you help me? I don't know why it behaves like this, is it a DRAM problem or another physical part of my ASA which has a problem?

It sounds like a AAA configuration issue. How is your authentication and authorization setup?

the user to have vpn access use ACS server to authenticate(AAA)  (maximum of 15 users).

Hi,

The best test to check the hardware would be to use console access to the firewall and verify if firewall shows the same behavior there as well.

While managing ASA through CLI (Telnet, ssh ) or ASDM ( https) we use the interface of ASA for management. It could be issue in the network for the traffic to traverse, it could be issue with the interface on which we are trying to manage the device.

Would suggest following action plan:

1. Check for console access and see if problem persists.

2. Check for interface errors "show int | in error"

3. Check for any other interface on ASA for managment and see if all the interfaces face same issue.

let us know if above suggestions helped or we can dig more into the issue

Cheers,

Naveen
