Client MFP support on linksys CCXv5 adapters

Hello!

According to CCX compatible matrix, CCXv5 adapter supports Client MFP.

Client MFP requiments

I have two Linksys wireless adapters AE1000 and AE6000 with the latest software versions.

When I connect these adapters to WPA2 AES(CCMP)protected WLAN, in client details on the WLC I can see that client is CCXv5 but

no Management Frame Protection supported (MFP-WLC-01.jpg attachment).

Prime shows the same information about the client (MFP-Prime-01.jpg).

What can be the reason for this situation?

Is there any way to make these adapters support MFP?

Hello,

So, you have MFP enabled on your infrastructure, (WLAN and APs) but it still shows you that MFP is not supported on your client?

Hello!

Yes, that's right. MFP is enabled

  • WLAN Client MFP protection is set to Optional
  • WLAN security is WPA2, PSK, AES(CCMP)
  • GLobal MFP state is Enbaled

(Cisco Controller) >show wps mfp summary

Management Frame Protection

  Global Infrastructure MFP state................ Enabled

  Controller Time Source Valid................... True

Prime v1.3, CAP3602I, WLC 7.4.110

CCXv5 clients were allowed to *not* support MFP if the underlying WLAN hardware did not support it.  I suspect that is the case here.
