We have a number of 2800 router on our network that have NM-16ESW= 16 port Ethernet modules installed. These are used to connect PCs and phones.

Everytime one of these ports goes down, usually due to a PC being powered down, we receive a critical alert in Ciscoworks.

The ports are configured not to log or send snmp traps.

no logging event link-status

no snmp trap link-status

How can we stop these alerts being generated?

I should have mentioned we are using LMS 4.0

Most likely LMS is polling the interfaces. By default, interfaces that are up when the device was discovered are managed. You can unmanage interfaces by editing the device properties in LMS.

Thanks for the reply Marvin. I'm a LMS novice so can you give an indication on where in LMS i can edit the device properties?
