Solved: Mobility Service Engine - virtual appliance

Hi Experts,

Our company is going to bid on a big project (wireless) with around 7000 indoor APs and 350 outdoor APs with WISM2, Prime Infrastructure 2.x, UCS and MSE. My question is regarding the MSE which I have no experience in configuring/deploying. Can any of you give me information how to deploy MSE?

1. Is configuring/deploying MSE complicated/difficult?

2. Is there a training for configuring/deploying MSE?

3. When MSE is deployed, is there any integration to be done on any security appliance? (the customer has an existing wired network)

Just to add, what are using the MSE for? That is the big question.

1. Is configuring/deploying MSE complicated/difficult?

>not if your doing basic stuff. Prime I'll be used for the most part once you add the MSE to it. If your looking for analytics, that is the more difficult piece.

2. Is there a training for configuring/deploying MSE?

>you should be able to find training from one of the Cisco training partners

Hi Scott,

what are using the MSE for? I think for tracking as the licenses are:

Context Aware Lic For 12000 Devices (RSSI based)- E Delivery

Context Aware Lic For 1000 Devices (RSSI based) - E Delivery

1000 AP WIPS Enhanced Local Mode licenses
