MeetingPlace Express 2.0 on ESXi

Hi All UC Experts,

I do believed you can install the MeetingPlace Express 2.0 on the ESXi.

Actually I got the VMWARE_MPX.iso to install into the ESXi 5.1. It is successful to pass the hardware checking and finished the installation stage, but it cannot boot up the X Server GUI for me to configure the IP, DNS, FQDN ....

Any idea for that? Thanks!

I doubt it is supported on VMWare, in fact the release notes below do not list anything about vmware, and only MCS or equivalent is listed as supported: If it was supported on VMWare it would most likely be ESX not ESXi as the software is too old to be supported on ESXi.

Hi Chi

As Chris says (+5), it's not supported. However, I have managed to get it to install and work, but it is very difficult.

As you've seen, x-windows doesn't start - and has a problem with the video drivers.

From memory (this was about 12 months ago), I booted the system in single user mode and installed Vmware tools. This updated the video drivers, and allowed x-windows to start and continue with the installation.

I certainly wouldn't recommend doing this in a production environment.

HTH.
