Hi
1- functions while making, receiving, and managing telephone calls. CTI applications allow you to perform such tasks as retrieving customer information from a database on the basis of information that caller ID provides. CTI applications can also enable you to use information that an interactive voice response (IVR) system captures, so the call can be routed to the appropriate customer service representative or so the information is provided to the individual who is receiving the call.

Hi
Example for CTI RP
1-IPCC , when you create application on IPCC.
2-CUE, when integrates Cisco call manager with Cisco unity express.
3-CTI route point virtual device can receive multiple, simultaneous calls for application-controlled redirection. You can configure one or more lines on a CTI route point that users can call to access the application. Applications can answer calls at a route point and can also redirect calls to a CTI port or IP phone. When a CTI application requests to redirect a call by using the Redirect API, Cisco Unified Communications Manager uses the configuration for the line/device calling search space for the redirected party.

Hi Amanso,
I didnt understand it completely does it mean that any application configured on IPCXX..?

Hi Mahmood,
Basically the applications that require CTI RP are IP-IVR , Auto Attendant. CTI Route point is a Trigger configured in IVR.
they are similar to voice mail Pilot configured in Unity .

Hi,
So if i understand them correctly as you said as a hunt pilot then this can have some lines under it..?.
So once someone dials that hunt pilot the call is forwarded to the IPCXX and the IPCXX takes care of rest of the things.
Thanks

You are right Mahmood,
Its just a virtual Device which has the lines configured and it does a Call Forward to the destination. The one of the feature is it does not consists the license usage. Also you shall configure Max no. of call to 5000 so on. Which mean. a single CTI RP can handel 5000 simultaneous calls..

Hi,
Thanks for your e-mail.
So where do we add the CTI ports for this hunt pilot...?
Thanks

Mahmood,
For the CTI RP..
Once you configure the Device, you will have the Lines configuration on the bottom side of the Device configuration. Though it says as Line configuration, it is treated as the CTI Port configuration..
If you are asking for the Voice Mail prespective..
You need to configure the Line ports --> hunt List --> Hunt Pilot..
At the same time, you need to configure the Voice Mail Pilot as with the same Hunt Pilot Number.

Hi Mahmood,
For Voice Mail, u can go Voice Mail port wizard in Call Manager
for IP-IVR, u need to create CTI ports in UCCX server.

Hi,
Please let me know if CTI ports are to be created in CUCM or they get created once you create them in IPCCX.
Thanks
