If the unit cannot boot and you cannot get to ROMMON then this is an RMA, if you are able to get to rommon and boot image from it then you need to format disk0, check that disk0 has recovered and if it has then load the image once again and if it has not then RMA.

In most cases when this problem comes up it is just a matter of time when you either replace the flash or replace the device.

I would suggest trying to reload the ASA image, It may have become corrupted.

If that doesn't work, then I believe only Cisco TAC can help you out.

Hello, I have the same problem on ASA 5505. I can't get into ROMMON. When I use ESC it gives me "invalid key:00a", when I use BREAK it gives me "Invalid key: 001" and when I use SPACE it gives me "invalid key:0020"

How can I fix it?

Thanks.

I had try to go into the ROMMON, but unable to access.

After several reboot for try and error, the ASA just hang at the loading page and i can conclude that it was hardware issue.

Anyway, thanks for your assistance.

I had an issue like this, if you can please RMA it...Once an ASA or PIX goes bad in the hardware department...save yourself the grief...return or replace it.

i have the same problem too. How did you check, it was a hardware problem?
