I've been on the fringes too long. I want to jump in here.

I'm a non-networking engineer based in San Jose / Santa Clara, My main interest is virtualization (VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, KVM, etc.). But  I became facinated with networking many years ago, and started the Academy curriculum at Mission College in Santa Clara, met some cool people, and started the process of building my own lab.

Of course, I started by getting all the wrong equipment, but that's another story. : )

I have family members in Cisco, but that's no big deal. Mainly, I want to find interesting people to learn from, and to possibly contribute to this community.
