Hello, I have a question about the compatibility of external antennas for access points Cisco. I need to put 2 antennas (omni and directional) for an access point AIR-CAP1602E-R-K9. Need an antennas 2.4 Ghz, I chose AIR-ANT2460P-R (patch, 1 port RP-TNC) and AIR-ANT2506 (omni, 1 port RP-TNC). There is my question - are these antennas compatible with the access point AIR-CAP1602E-R-K9 and whether they will work properly with it?

Please check the supported external antennae for AP 1600e.

External Antennas

The 1602E models are configured with up to thre

e external dual-band dipole antennas, and two

2.4-GHz/5-GHz dual-band radios. The radios an

d antennas support frequency bands 2400–2500

MHz and 5150–5850 MHz through a common dual-band

RF interface. Features of the external

dual-band dipole antennas are:

Three RTNC antenna connectors on the top of the access point

Three TX and three RX antennas

These antennas are supported on the 1602E:

Antenna Part Number       Antenna Type                                           Antenna Gain  2 GHz / 5 GHz

(dBi)

AIR-ANT2524DB-R          Dual-resonant black dipole                      2/4

AIR-ANT2524DW-R         Dual-resonant white dipole                      2/4

AIR-ANT2524DG-R         Dual-res

onant gray dipole                        2/4

AIR-ANT2524V4C-R        Dual-resonant, ceiling-mount omni

(4-port)

AIR-ANT2544V4M-R       Dual-resonant omni (4-port)                    4/4

AIR-ANT2566P4W-R       Dual-resonant Directional antenna

(4-port)

6/6

Thank you) But i want to use 2 antennas on one AP. For use antennas AIR-ANT2544V4M-R и AIR-ANT2566P4W-R required minimum 3 ports RP-TNC and AP AIR-CAP1602E-R-K9 have only 3 ports, that is what i want to use

AIR-ANT2460P-R (patch, 1 port RP-TNC) and AIR-ANT2506 (omni, 1 port RP-TNC).

If I understand correctly, the access point supports only these antennas?

AIR-ANT2544V4M-R       Dual-resonant omni (4-port)                                   4/4

AIR-ANT2566P4W-R       Dual-resonant Directional antenna(4-port)          6/6

You can't put two different types of antennas. You either have to put an omni or a directional not both. If your trying to use the patch to cover more area in another direction, you can't do that with a single ap. You need another access point. Also it is recommended to use the antennas made for that specific access points.
