we need to follow ISSU steps right ?

You can, if you want to.  But what I've posted is the better way because some IOS don't support ISSU (and in some cases, some IOS break ISSU).

please advise thanks

I need to sleep.  Give me a break!

HI Amit,

First check memory on flash card..... backup old IOS and config from swicth.

then

Download new image:

Cat6509> (enable) copy tftp bootflash:

Cat6509> (enable) dir bootflash:

Change the boot variable so that the switch boots with new software image after reset.

Cat6509> (enable) show boot

Cat6509> (enable) clear boot system flash bootflash:cat6000-sup2.6-3-6.bin ----(clear the old image )

Cat6509> (enable) set boot system flash bootflash:cat6000-sup2cvk8.7-3-2.bin

Cat6509> (enable) show boot

Reset the switch so that during reload, the switch boots with the new software image.

Cat6509> (enable) reset

Verify whether the switch loads the new software image.

Cat6509> (enable) show version

Hope it helps.
