Hi,

The hosts in 10.45.0.64/27 don't know how to get to 172.31.22.1, they use the default gateway which is the wireless router and the wireless router sends it out on the internet using its default route.

you can add this route on your machines in 10.45.0.64/27:

route add 172.31.22.0 mask 255.255.255.0 10.45.0.70 -p

Regards

Alain

I have A regular wireless router that is connected to the internet and does static routing the prive address for the wireless router is 10.45.0.65 /27 and i have some computers on that network then I took my 3550 switch and plugged in f0/1 to the router i made a static entry in the router for dest network 172.31.22.0 255.255.255.0 gateway 10.45.0.70 on the 3550 i did

ip routing

ip default-gateway 10.45.0.65

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.45.0.65

int f0/1

no sw

ip add 10.45.0.70 255.255.255.224

no sh

vl 100

name LAN2

int vl 100

no sh

ip add 172.31.22.1 255.255.255.0

int f0/48

sw mode acc

sw acc vl 100

no sh

now with this config i can get on the internt browse and ping sites like google and facebook  just fine when i plugg my laptop to f0/48 but  for some reason i cant ping or access anything on the 10.45.0.64 network i can ping the wireless router and access the web interface but thats about it any suggestions

hey so i actually have to add a persistent route on the hosts on the 10.45.0.64 netowrk for the 172.31.22.0 network i thought they would know how to get to it from the router since the router is their gatewayand already have the route added but let em try it and see thanks.
