Simple question: Is this GLC-FE-100BX-D= 100BASE-BX10-D SFP module for 100-MB ports, 1550 nm TX3/1310 nm RX4 wavelength, 10 km over single-strand SMF  compatible with multimode fiber?

Thanks,

Not compatible.  Not in a long shot.

Sorry, I didn't mean to go the distance, just if the SFP will work on singlemode and multimode fibers. Other units from ther vendors will and I wondered about this one.

If you have multi-mode (MM) fibre link then you need to use MM SFP.

If you have single-mode (SM) fibre link then you need to use SM SFP.

You can't use MM SFP on a SM fibre link.
