HI,

I have 2 x 3650 stack switch using as core switch and 42 x 2960 switch using as user lan. I got the problem about the EhterChannel. Since the 3650 can support 48 etherchannel, but 2960S only support 6 etherchannel.

3650:

SW101#sh int port-channel ?

  <1-48>  Port-channel interface number

Group: 7

----------

Group state = L2

Ports: 2   Maxports = 8

Port-channels: 1 Max Port-channels = 1

Protocol:    -

Minimum Links: 0

Group: 8

----------

Group state = L2

Ports: 0   Maxports = 8

Port-channels: 1 Max Port-channels = 1

Protocol:    -

Minimum Links: 0

2960S:

SW001#sh int port-channel 1?

.  <1-6>

How can i use the po7 , po8 on 2960 ?

Thanks!

You may have to look at your net design.  The 2960 is generally not suitable as a switch with a lot of servers on it using etherchannels  or as a network aggregation switch  where you need a large amount of port channels.  If you have already used port   channels 1-6 on the 2960 you are out of luck, it only supports 6 on the earlier models of the 2960 .If you need another you will have  to replace the switch with like a 3560 or equivalent. Not having really looked at the newer 2960's I don't know if they still have that restriction, you would have to check the spec sheets to see if they meet your requirements.
