Hi All,


Running PI 1.2.1.12, need to recover the admin password for the command line interface any ideas.

To recover the password using the documented passwor recovery steps above shown by sandeep:::

You can use an ISO from a 1.3, 1.4 or 2.0 which are available for download (the versions don't have to match)

After all, you're not reimaging the system; you're only booting off the ISO to get to a boot option to recover the lost admin password.



Available boot options:


  [1] Network Control System Installation (Keyboard/Monitor)

[2] Network Control System Installation (Serial Console)

[3] Recover administrator password. (Keyboard/Monitor)

[4] Recover administrator password. (Serial Console)


  Boot existing OS from Hard Disk.

Recovering a Lost Admin Password


If you lose or forget the admin password for Cisco Prime Infrastructure appliance, follow these steps.


Step 1 Reboot the Cisco Prime Infrastructure appliance with the ISO DVD inserted. The Cisco Prime Infrastructure Welcome screen appears.




            Welcome to Cisco Prime Network Control System


To boot from hard disk, press .


Available boot options:


  [1] Network Control System Installation (Keyboard/Monitor)


  [2] Network Control System Installation (Serial Console)


  [3] Recover administrator password. (Keyboard/Monitor)


  [4] Recover administrator password. (Serial Console)


  Boot existing OS from Hard Disk.


Enter boot option and press .


boot:


Step 2 Select the desired recovery option, 3 or 4, depending on how you are connected to the appliance.

Trying to find the ISO or OVA for PI 1.2.1.12 with not much luck? any ideas.

Followed the above can only find .OVA file shown? (PNP-KICKSTART-VM-1.2.11-medium.ova)

Will this file work?

If you do not have a copy of the ISO image, you can download it from Cisco.com, as follows:

a. Point your browser to http://software.cisco.com/download/navigator.html.

b. Use the

Find box to search for "Cisco Prime Infrastructure". From the results list, select the software version you are using (for example, Cisco PrimeInfrastructure 1.3).

c.Select

Prime Infrastructure Software

to display the list of ISOs and other downloadableimage files for that software version.

d.Download the ISO image from the page.

e.Once you have a copy of the ISO image, upload it to a datastore on your virtual machine, as follows.
