You can do this in one of two ways.

- Traffic Shaping

- Traffic Policing

Traffic Shaping - Allows you to limit bandwidth usage, by implementing a queue, that holds excess traffic, until it can send traffic.

Traffic Policing - Allows you to limit bandwith by dismissing any traffic that doesn't match your CIR, or if it does, you can dismit it, remark traffic.

Are you wanting to limit traffic from your router to your LAN, or for a specific type of traffic. What is the end goal with this bandwidth limitation?

Hello

Just like to add to Johns post.

Traffic shaping is predominantly for egress traffic -(Usually comes into play on your routers when your physical wan lines exceeds the your traffic rate set by the ISP  or your neighboring site)

Traffic Policing is used for ingress  traffic ( usually originating from you LAN,-entering first device in network from being overrun with too much traffic)
