Cisco C40 is "Randomly" Loosing Directory Phonebook from TMS

Hello,

It appears as if we are randomly loosing our TMS published phonebook on two of our Cisco Codec C40s. One day they will appear fine, while the next they will be missing. This occurred without any known user intervention. The phonebook on the devices in questions contains a manual list, and two "Cisco TMS Endpoints" folders.

One theory is that the issue may be related to firmware. Our versions are as follows:

TMS Version: 13.2.2

Cisco Codec C40

Firmware:TCNC6.2.0.20b1616

Thanks for any assistance!

-Kyle

Is it possible that there's some network connectivity issue between your endpoint and TMS?

When the device doesn't have a phonebook, are you able to do some of the troubleshooting steps in this thread: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2258488 and let us know if the endpoint is able to contact TMS.

While I cannot rule out intermittent connectivity issues (due to not being capable of performing tests at the exact time the TMS directory is lost), I can verify that tests have been repeated successfully at all points in time that the behavior was observed.

The issue was that that DNS had not been properly configured. In our case, the phonebooks appeared when TMS published/pushed them and disappeared when the endpoints attemped to pull them from TMS.

Thanks for the update.  Glad to hear that you've found the cause of your problems.
