cannot make calls (outgoing or incoming)

       I'm sorry for reposting this but In the original discussion , I accidentally marked one of the answers as correct and I don't know how much that affects someone taking another look at the discussion.


I have a problem with calls going through to the sip provider as g729 whereas they now require g711alaw. I cannot make outbound calls. I configured the uc540w via CCA and though I specified g711alaw In the sip trunk , It didn't work.


I tried adding g711alaw to one of the dial-peers to see If  that would make a change.In doing so , I can no longer make any Incoming calls to any extensions.I removed the configuration but It hasn't changed anything.I have no idea what I've done.


I ran a debug ccsip message and am receiving Warning: 304 "Media Type(s) Unavailable"  q.805 error=65.

I would really appreciate any assistance.I've attached the ccsip message debug and the running config.

The config seems ok. If you have problem you can follow the same check list:

- debug dial peer to get dp used in outgoing calls

- check dp config used

- fix dp config

What is the dial-peer matched during incoming and outgoing calls?

You can check this using debug voip dialpeer.

In your config there are many voip dial-peer without codec config.

Add "voice-class codec 1" or "codec ..." to all dp.

Hi.I've tried adding the dial peer but no change.Does It have to be done on all dial peers for It to work correctly ? I don't understand how the config changed.incoming calls were fine.The only thing i did was add codec g711alaw to one dial peer and then all incoming calls stopped.

Thank you very much for your help.Incoming calls are working fine.I have no access to the office at the moment to test outgoing.

Could you take a quick look at the new running config and tell me If I'll have any problems with outgoing calls not transcoding to g711alaw ?
