iSCSI boot support on vic P81e

Hi,

Is it supported to use P81e for iSCSI boot on C200M2?

Last time I know that it's not supported and there was saying that it's on roadmap. I can't seem to find the release notes for it.

If it's already supported, what version of c-series software do I need to use?

thanks

According to the support matrix, it's not supported.

my 2c

- even the VIC1225 doesn't show any iSCSI Boot support

- the VIC1225 is a prerequisite for single wire management, therefore I doubt, that there will be a lot of new driver development going on for P81e; Cisco PM please clarify !

Based on release note 1.5(1), VIC 1225 is supported for iSCSI boot.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/OL-28995-01.html

But not sure for P81e, as I can't find information for this.

You are right ! however, iSCSI boot not only depends on the hardware supporting it, but also the OS; as you see from the support matrix, e.g. VIC-1240: iSCSI boot support for RHEL, ESXi, W2012, but eg. NOT for SLES and Ubuntu.

Therefore the RN is just claiming hardware support, the support matrix however gives you the information for the OS support.

Hi Eddy,

As an additional comment, the C200 M2 does not support the 1225 VIC or the 1.5 release.
