how to verify ucs uptime?

Hi All,

I observed UCS alert on my monitoring tool.

Service : System Uptime
State : OK
Hostgroup: Switch
Time: Tue Apr 15 19:10:16 UTC 2014
Additional Info: OK: UPTIME=34 minutes, 11.37

But when I logged in and verified the system uptime, it was up from a very long time:

System start time:          Thu Nov 29 19:17:30 2012
System uptime:              501 days, 18 hours, 46 minutes, 45 seconds
Kernel uptime:              501 days, 19 hours, 25 minutes, 11 seconds
Active supervisor uptime:   501 days, 18 hours, 46 minutes, 45 seconds

Could you please explain any other command to verify uptime?

Thank You,

Phani.

First you need to find out what is the ip address of each fabric, if you don't know what they are you can log into UCSM (see screenshot attracted )

Once you have the ip for both fabrics, SSH to the IPs and and run the following commands to get the uptime on each fabric.

F-A# connect nxos

F-A(nxos)# show system uptime

Hi

Did you verify the uptime for both UCS fabric interconects?

It might be that one of the fabrics rebooted, ssh to the IP address of both the primary and secondary fabric interconnect and check the uptime.

@manvelas,

Could you please let us know command to verify the uptime from fabric interconnect.
