New FCoE Implementation

Hi All

We are designing a new fcoe implementation with HP VC 10/10D (dual hop fcoe). It connects to our nexus 5596. I had a few questions on this:

1) Existing 5596 also has a lot of native fc connections . 5596 connects to brocade on NPV. native fc connections are on vsan 10. Should we configure a new vsan for fcoe (to map it to a vlan), or is it ok to use the same vsan ? what is the best practice ?

2) We have the fc_features license, and have enabled fcoe feature. Do we need fcoe NPV license ? I see in cisco website that there are 2 ways to configure fcoe, and the 2nd way is using fcoe npv . when is fcoe npv used?

3) we enabled feature fcoe, but we dont see show commands like "show flogi database" , "show fcdomain" etc .. do we need fcoe npv license for these to work ?

Thanks in advance.

ans ) when you switches are in NPV mode then you can type

sh npv flogi to check the flogi database.

for vsa mapping you can create valn and map it to vsan

for example.  vlan 2002

fcoe vsan 2002 this enable vlan to vsan mapping .
