TomCat and Operations Manager services not running after upgrade from 6.3.1 -> 7.0 -> 7.5

Team,

so I've worked on upgrading another MSP chassis to the latest VSM version and this one didnt go as smoothly as the first box. During the upgrade we had some issues with the jre not unstalling and then the cisco files not completely deleting from the drive.

Currently the management console works but the operations manager fails to load the login prompts which I believe might be java related.

I've attached some screenshots. How do I get Tomcat started and the operations manager?

Do you mean a clean install of VSM 7 or a Cisco assisted *migration* from 6.3.1 to VSM 7?

There really isn't an "upgrade" path from 6.x to 7.x.

Also, do you happen to have any SSH session logs from the actual upgrade activities?  There really isn't much information to analyse so far... just the indications that key processes are not coming up properly.

clean install.

tried it again yesterday and got the box running vsm 7.0

it wont go to 7.5 now.

I have 8 migrations to do soon; the last two boxes were unused machines.

EDIT:

figured out why it would not upgrade to 7.5 from 7.0. I had renamed the zip files from the SLES10 scheme to just 7.5 and the web interface wouldnt process it correctly.

Hi Stephan,

I've managed to locate the document you'll need to review to bring a VSM 6.X server to a clean VSM7.0 state.  It can be located at:

https://www.ciscoet.com/resource/cisco-video-surveillance-manager-clean-upgrade-release-70

Keep in mind this is a *destructive* process.  If you actually require a migration, you should review https://www.ciscoet.com/resource/vsm-7-migration-guide and engage your local Cisco rep.

Cheers,

Scott.
