Console locked - Password check with invalid encryption type

HI,

So it appers that my console access is locked.  Worst thing is that my ssh vty is not setup properly so I can't access the switch.

What I don't understand I did not change any configuration under console 0 but only under vty.

Basically password for username was changed from password 7 to 5 and the following commands were performed:

username ciscoAdmin privilege 15 secret  <password>

Original settings:

line vty 0 4

password 7 <password>

logging synchronous

login

transport input ssh

Removed

No password 7 <password>

And added

login local

Console config:

line con 0

password 7 <password>

logging synchronous

login authentication CONSOLE

!

aaa authentication login CONSOLE line

Note this was done only under vty and not console.  I don't understand how this change would mess with console settings.

Now when accessing via console following commands pops up: Password check with invalid encryption type

I'm afraid I will need to reboot the switch since i didn't save the settings so it would go back to original.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
