Hi Siva,

VCS basically comes in two modes : one is VCS Ctrl and other is VCS -Expressway.

VCS Ctrl is used for registering third party video endpoints. It helps enable interworking of Telepresence endpoints with H.323 and third party video endpoints[Polycom/MsLync]

VCS-E with Ctrl is used for dialing from internet.

What abt Expressway -C &E

Yes, Cisco didn't make it easy for us.

The word Expressway is used for several products. But important to know is that VCS is the Tandberg product and is a sort of callmanager.

Expressway C and E is not a callmanager, meaning you can't register devices on it, and it provides functionality like Lync Edge (VPN less connection)

But, and here comes the confusing part, all products are based on VCS code. So there is no Expressway-C and E software, only VCS software, and the license installed make it what you want it to be.

Here is a good link:

Hope it is clear
