Clean Air requirements to leverage

Hi,

A site with a WLC 2504 and 2 APs, older 1600s, has had intermittent problems with client disconnects.

TAC looked at it and said the WLC 2504 needs a minimum of 4 access points connected to enable field management functions between the APs that would help if they are too close together or too far apart and also roaming between APs.

The site is willing to purchase 2 more APs. Do the older 1600s provide Clean Air functions? Is any other software besides the controller gui interface needed to leverage Clean Air in the event interference is the real problem here?

Thanks.

If you are running WLC code 8.x then you will get CleanAir Express feature on your 1600 AP.

Here is the quick summary of different AP model CleanAir capability.

Prefer go with 1700AP if they are looking for similar spec AP with similar budget.
