Importing ACS 5.6 configuration file from PC.

Hi ,

We  are  replacing a  fauly ACS SNS 3415 ( Version 5.6 ) 

We have the  configuration file (tar.gpg)  in our local desktop .  Can u please suggest us how can i push the backup image from my pc to the  ACS repository .

We  cannot see any import option directly from the PC .

 

Please suggest me what is the best way to  restore or  import the configuration file (tar.gpg) from my local computer .

Hi Sinjish,

Your repository should be a  FTP/TFTP server and you can send the backup file to that repository which should be configured on and accessible from ACS. Once the file is there in repository, you can check by doing "show repository" (works only for FTP) , you can use "restore" command to restore it.

# restore <filename> repository <repository name>

Also, if you have not configured the device to be on network and is unable to access repository, then you need to ensure that your PC and device are able to communicate with each other. Do simple initial configuration on ACS and make your PC as FTP server. Configure it as repository and use restore command to restore the config.
