NTP sync verifcation on a Switch acting as NTP source for other devices

Hi,

I am using one Switch (Say SW1) as NTP source for other switches (Say SW2, SW3) and it is working fine. SW1 gets time sync from a Router.

I have one more network device i.e.  IPS and I have have given SW1 as NTP server IP in the IPS.

Now how do i verify on the switch SW1 whether it is acting as NTP source to IPS ? I can see on SW2 & SW3 using 'sh NTP status', but how do we see on SW1 for whether it acting as NTP source for SW2 & SW3 or any other network device ?

Appreciate your response.

Regards,

Jr.J

On SW1, you can't.  On SW2 and SW3 you can.  Not sure what command SW2 and SW3 supports but the easiest way to determine is to look a their clock and compare the time, including the seconds, against SW1 or even your router.   Same goes with your IPS.
