Unmanage a Lightweight AP on PRIME Infrastructure

Hi guys,

is there a way to unmanage a Lightweight AP (LAP) on Cisco PRIME Infrastructure but keep managing it on its WLC?, we would like to free some Lifecycle licenses.

Currently we have a licensing issue because when we add a WLC, PRIME automatically adds all its associated LAPs (115 aprox.) and they are consuming almost all the available Lifecycle licenses (125), causing that we can only add another 10 devices to manage them from PRIME.

Is it possible to unmanage some of these LAPs from PRIME but to keep managing them from their corresponding WLC (in order to free some Lifecycle licenses)?

Thank you in advance!!

Kind regards

Sorry, but no you cannot do that.

Once you manage a WLC, all of its associated APs are also managed and thus consume Lifecycle licenses.
