Camera Compatibility with VSOM 7.6

Hello,

My end-customer has some Axis 221 type cameras and Sony CH-280 type cameras.

Both cameras are not supported model in VSOM 7.6. Can I force to deploy both cameras into VSOM 7.6 by using other camera model driver?

you try with Axis Generic Drives, most of the feature might not work. Axis 221 doesn't support ONVIF protocol.

Sony CH-280, might support ONVIF, this should be ONVIF 2.0. you may try the Sony Generic Drivers or ONVIF Generic Driver.

check the release notes for the firmware details.

Hello Raghav,

For Axis 221, I have tried Axis Generic drivers either version 2.0 or 3.0, but it's unsuccessful. For ONVIF also unsuccessful. Do you have any other suggestion?

For Sony CH-280 I will try it with Sony Generic Drivers or ONVIF Generic drivers.

Have you tried approaching it 'from the other direction'?

Have you investigated to see if perhaps there are applicable firmware updates for the cameras you are trying to use?  Perhaps they have newer firmware which may implement some ONVIF compatibility and allow you to find some common ground with Cisco VSM.

Best of luck, and Cheers!

Hello Scott,

For Axis 221, the camera has been installed latest firmware. The latest firmware from Axis official website is 4.49.1 which released at 29 June 2010.

The product of Axis 221 also has been discontinued and online support only.

Hello Raghav,

For Sony CH280 I have tried ONVIF Generic Drivers and it's successful.

Thank you

thanks for the update.

By the way, do you know what are the pros and cons if I use generic model template rather than model specific template camera?

we have listed them up, please refer to
