asr9000 forwarding latency

Does anybody know what is average forwaring latency for packets from one L3 interface to other L3 interface ?

I mean how long router processes packets inside box from input to output.

Hardware asr9006 rsp440 + MOD80 + 4x10G linecards.

yup, from typhoon to typhoon that is 15usec.

Here is some detail I captured some time ago:

Latency introduced while forwarding by the ASR9000 is about 15 usec. This is the time from ingress NP to egress NP. In this number the egress and ingress framing is not included.

Method:

We made a crafted image that inserts a timestamp in the payload by NP in the parse stage for ingress, and in the modify stage in egress.

When you measure that latency it is about 15 usec with some shift.

End to End delay or latency will depend on the media (1G vs 10G) and the quality of the tester equipment.

cheers!
