AP Static IP Addresses - DHCP Address.

Hi All.

I have about 187 Access Points running in Flexconnect on different sites.  For management & monitoring purposes I assigned them Static IP Addresses.

The problem is, every time they reboot they will grab DHCP IPs.  On the AP, it will still show the Static IP, but only reply on the new DHCP IP.

From the WLC and the AP side, how do I prevent this from happening ?

Thanx

I don't know of a means to disable fall back to DHCP, however two solutions you might consider-

- Segment the APs placing them in a different VLAN/IP subnet without a DHCP server

- Create reservations on the DHCP scope such that when an AP falls back to DHCP it gets the same IP address.

Neither solutions are ideal, I'd love to disable DHCP fallback on my APs.

Pete.
